Western Region: NPP will transform small-scale Miners Into Ethical Miners – Napo

If elected, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party’s vice presidential candidate, has promised to revolutionize small-scale mining by implementing a community mining scheme.

The vice presidential candidate gave a speech at a rally in Bogoso, in the Prestea Huni Vally Constituency, and Mpohor, in the Western Region.

He detailed his proposals to transform the mining industry for the benefit of local miners. In order to provide jobs and riches for citizens, he placed a strong emphasis on the creation of community mining initiatives in shuttered shafts and the investigation of new mining locations.

The boisterous reception reflects Prestea Huni Valley’s determination to vote for Dr. Bawumia and return the seat to the NPP via Barbara Oteng-Gyasi on December 7. In an address to Chiefs, Clergy, and a mini rally in Bogoso, Prestea Huni Valley Constituency, he emphasized that the NPP’s primary goal has always been to manage Ghana’s mineral resources in a way that benefits the people and stimulates economic growth while not jeopardizing the environment.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s vision, he said, is to foster responsible mining practices while assisting small-scale mining companies grow into larger enterprises. This will be achieved through capacity building and providing access to financing for equipment acquisition.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed Dr. Bawumia’s plan to collaborate with the private sector to establish a Minerals Development Bank, which will support the mining industry.

Napo emphasized the necessity of guiding small-scale miners toward ethical mining methods, pointing out that approximately one million Ghanaians are engaged in this type of work.

He emphasized that this strategy will support environmental conservation efforts in addition to generating greater income.

In order to bring about improvements in the area, he advised the miners to stop contaminating the waterways and to support Barbara Oteng Gyasi, the parliamentary candidate and former minister of tourism.

Barbara Oteng Gyasi, the Parliamentary Candidate for Prestea Huni Vally outlined various developments initiated by the government when she was the MP. She pleaded that the constituents return her to parliament so she can continue her developmental agenda for the people of Prestea Huni Vally.

The euphoria in Mpohor reflects the people’s appreciation for the NPP government’s progress thus far, albeit more work need to be done.
The people showed their willingness to vote for a competent Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who will return after four years to answer for his stewardship, rather than handing over a blank cheque to a man who is only qualified to serve for four years and will not return.
I also said that restoring John Aboa Sanie to Parliament on the NPP ticket is an excellent way to support Dr. Bawumia.
